Cheers to Liz & Adam
We can’t believe it’s been a year! The Beckers’ exquisite nuptials were held on the unspoiled and private Dewees Island, about 25 minutes off the coast of Charleston. Riding around on (electric) golf carts orchestrating logistics while crossing paths with every beautiful Lowcountry creature….erecting a custom driftwood arbor on a spotless beach in the morning sun….scooping fresh lavender into cones for a late-night toss while a lone bald eagle circles overhead…it’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it, right?!
On a site visit for final considerations, we were chatting with Chad Rhodes of Cru Catering when we realized that “something was amiss” in the soaring vertical space over the mini key lime pie bar for which we were planning. Then it dawned on us: have Dewees shot at sunrise and sunset, let the Mother of the Bride choose the image, elevate the artwork above the station for that finishing touch, and best of all: let it double as a surprise gift to the couple! The Eggers jumped on the idea, and off went the oh-so-talented Gayle Brooker, one of our most favorite film shooters whose work is simply phenomenal. Liz and Adam were completely taken aback, as were we.
Drool with us:

In case you missed it, the Beckers’ wedding was featured in the Summer 2009 issue of Charleston Weddings:

Can we please do it all over again? Sigh.
